Door Buying Guide

There are two main types of doors, Internal and External doors. Internal doors are fitted on the interior of a building, connecting rooms and the like. External doors are to fitted on the outside of buildings, such as front doors. There are several factors to take into account when choosing one of either kind. To this end, here is a description of each kind.

External Doors

As external doors are exposed to the outside world and thus the elements, they need to be more sturdy to last against weather, and protect against unwanted entry. However, there are other factors to consider besides protection and durability! It is important to remember that your front door provides a valuable first impression of your home, so aesthetics are very important to consider as well.

Internal Doors

The function of an internal door may vary greatly, so there is much more to consider. A door can open onto a room, be a sliding door, be used for a bathroom, a wardrobe or any function. Consider the purpose and setting of the door when choosing one, in order that it fulfills its function, and meshes aesthetically. You may want it to stand out and call attention to the surroundings, or perhaps you want it to blend in. In either case, consider this when making your choice
